The term fourth industrial revolution (4.0) was first introduced by Klaus Schwab at World Economic Forum (WEF) on 10 October 2016, held at Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. He is the founder and executive chairman of the world economic forum (WEF), the theme of the WEF 2016 was Mastering the Fourth industrial Revolution. Schwab launched his book named "The Fourth Inductrial Revolution" WEF annouced its opening of its center the Fourth Industrial Revolution in San Francisco.
As per Schwab this 4.0 includes the technology which is a kind a blend of hardware, software, biology and advance communication and connectivity. Today we can see the technologies that combines hardware and software but combining these two with biology is still in a process. As per Schwabs books in this era of technologies many breakthroughs will be made in the areas of nanotechnology, quantum computing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, internet of things, 5G, 3D-printing and off course this is very obvious that as the time goes on there will be a major technological breakthroughs, there is nothing special predictions.
