Tesla CEO Elon Musk Announced on Twitter in 2016 that Tesla will start booking online for its Model 3 Sedan but the plan was later skipped due to lack of charging infrastructure in India.
But now the plan seems to be changed in a recent tweet by Musk he promised to launch the most valuable brand Model 3 to launch in India by First quarter of 2021
but the question is how to claim the model 3, just like an international market Tesla is expected to start booking online and export it to India as a Completely built Unit (CBU) and the expected cost Tesla model 3 in India is expected to be 55 lakhs INR. According to the company’s results in the 3rd quarter of 2020, the Tesla
Model 3 along with the Model Y accounted for 89% of the total sales.
Earlier reports mentioned that Tesla is also in talks with the Indian government to setup an R&D center in Bengaluru.
looking at the specification of Tesla Model 3 it comes with 500km range and a top speed of 162 kmph and takes 3.1 sec to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph.
a recent from news from Tesla also claims that Model 3 is also changing its charging demand now the question is whether the Tesla will be sending its updated version or the same conventional model 3, but anyway its the cost that matter the most in India.
there is also a question that would it be possible for charging infrastructure in India to support the Tesla Model 3 Sedan because the charging will require special connections in the house to support the high power drawing capacity and are there enough chargers on the highway that it can cover distance of more than 500km.
also the actual price will be much different than what is expected to be because depending on range Model 3 price varies from $39,990 - 56,990$ in INR it becomes 2935893.87 - 4407519.87 and for these price government of India has different custom duty for importing these brands.

estimated price of Rs. 70.00 Lakh, Rs. 1.50 Crore and Rs. 2.00 Crore,
respectively.

the final cost is irrespective of who pays the custom duty it is going to increase the cost most probably even if is 100% than the Tesla has to pay the custom double of actual price that is min 80,000$. is this feasible or not cannot be told as of now until tesla announce different pricing schemes, so need to wait for that.
the price seems to still less when it comes to comparison with BMW X3M which cost around 99.99 lakhs through dealer.
