Skoda has launched its first fully electric power train SUV based on Volkswagen's MEB platform in which battery packs are placed on the flooring to save the space. the SUV comes in variants with three battery sizes, five power variants, rear wheel and all wheel drive. it requires little time to charge and offers range upto 510km in the WLTP cycle.
The Skoda iV is to be developed at Czech main plant in Mlada Boleslav the only model outside Germany to be based on MEB (modular electric toolkit). a balance is kept for all customers covering from short to long distances, with various combinations of power and drive.
Entry level variants with rear mounted engine and rear wheel drive
as in the conventional drive in the electric drive too skoda is making the use of rear wheel drive. The maximum range for the ENYAQ iV is 510km in WLTP cycle and has a superfast charging capacity of up to 125kW.
the 82kWh battery can be charged from 5 to 80% in just 38minutes at DC charging points, at night it can be charged upto 11kW AC powerwall charger, the ENYAQ iV comes with special iV charger that fits all conventional charging socket.
Five Power Variants, three battery sizes, two motors and all wheel drive
the Skoda iV offers three battery packs and five power variants. the two most powerful model are also fitted with electric motor on the front axle that transfer the torque on the road of 425Nm and 460Nm.
the entry level Skoda ENYAQ iV 50 is fitted with a 109kW rear mounted engine and rear wheel drive with a maximum torque is 220Nm, gross capacity for lithium ion battery is 55kWh and with a range of 340km. the 132 kW ENYAQ 60 iV can cover upto 390 km with a maximum torque is 310Nm.
the ENYAQ 80 iV has an output of 150kW, torque of upto 310Nm and 510km in the WLTP cycle. the SKODA iV covers 100km/h speed in just 6.2sec with a top speed of 180km/h
Outstanding aerodynamics for greater efficiency
Skoda ENYAQ provides outstanding aerodynamics and allows high level of efficiency and thus long range, it provides drag coefficient of 0.27 which is achieved with the help of tyres.
