Germany to provide electric vehicle charging station at all petrol and gas stations, this will be done with the help of economy recovery package of 130 billion euro post corona virus. this step is taken to prevent consumers concerns of refilling EV's and to increase the sale of electric vehicle, which in many countries often lags due to the scarcity of charging stations.
This step will significantly boost the sales of electric vehicle in addition to this a plan is going on to penalize the owners of vehicle producing considerable amount of pollution through taxes, this will have the economy to grow in a certain way, also a 6000 euro subsidy is provided towards the cost of electric vehicle. This plan of Germany is motivated from the French government's announcement made last week by president Macron to increase the sales of EV.
As part of the government's package 2.5 billion euro will be spent on battery cell production and charging infrastructure in this domain companies like Shell, Engie, Tesla are competing for dominance. Percentage of share for new passenger car registration includes 1.8% of electric vehicles, 32% diesel and 59.2% of petrol cars.
Diego biasi, chairman and co-founder in Quercus Real Assets said that the Germany plan will be really helpful to boost the sales of EV's he aslo added to his statement that "We know that 97% of the reason for not buying the electric vehicle is range anxiety but the petrol station is always open"
according to BDEW, Germany's associations for water and energy industry that till march 2020 total charging stations numbers to 27,730. to achieve the mass market 70000 charging stations and 7000 fast charging stations are required.
I think at the last that this economic package could bring huge potential for EV's in the market and among the consumers, and could help in getting rid of range anxiety if in case this is really realized.
